The Role

Walkers Professional Services (“WPS”), part of the Walkers group, sets a new “best in class” standard in the provision of corporate services. WPS currently has a vacancy within our regulated funds company secretarial team that may suit a solicitor that is seeking to transition to a corporate governance role. The role will involve working with our regulated clients in the delivery of our industry leading end to end corporate governance and board meeting solution.

The role will require a good foundation in delivering high quality client services within a legal or corporate services environment but the successful candidate will also be provided with the necessary training and support to enable them to build a rewarding career servicing some of the largest clients in the investment funds industry. WPS is supportive of a hybrid working model and places huge emphasis on continuous professional development within a collegiate team-based environment. There is ample opportunity for the successful candidate to quickly progress within WPS specialising in an area that is highly in demand. The successful candidate will be a member of the regulated funds company secretarial team and part of a busy, client facing, professionally qualified team. Their main responsibilities will include;

• Acting as the primary point of contact for the provision of services for a portfolio of regulated funds and Irish companies;
• This role is heavily focused on hosting and attending board meetings at our offices and preparation of high quality board minutes;
• Monitoring and ensuring compliance with annual and ad hoc statutory obligations under the Companies Act or ICAV Act;
• Develop an understanding of the regulatory structures and obligations of our clients, working closely with the legal advisors to ensure that the corporate governance arrangements of clients adhere to legal and regulatory requirements and best practice;
• The candidate will also be expected to get involved in internal projects and initiatives.

The Person

• Strong academic credentials;
• Strong attention to detail and an ability to multi-task;
• Excellent writing skills and an ability to absorb and assimilate large amounts of information;
• Experience of managing and owning relationships with key stakeholders;
• The candidate should be confident in their ability to maintain a professional demeanour and to appropriately balance competing time pressures;
• A positive and constructive attitude combined with an ability and willingness to quickly develop new skills and knowledge;
• The candidate should be able to think on their feet, demonstrate resourcefulness, and have strong communication and organisational skills.
